Steve Peat, World Champion

I was really pleased to see that Steve Peat had finally won the World Mountain Bike downhill championship.

I don't know Steve and he doesn't know me. Back when I used to race downhill a bit on the UK circuit, I used to see him. I always remember him having the first pair of RockShox Boxxer forks in the UK, and grown men practically drooling at the sight of them. He was always friendly and courteous, even though he had to share practice time on the course with rubbish riders like me.

A great bloke and I'm glad he won it.
